Omsk hockey club (HC) Avangard defeated Magnitogorsk Metallurg in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season match. The meeting was held on November 27 in Magnitogorsk.

The game ended with a score of 3:1. Defenseman Artyom Blazhievsky (4th minute), forwards Vasily Ponomarev (11th) and Andrew Poturalski (51st) scored goals for the winners. Striker Sergey Tolchinsky scored a goal for Metallurg (36th).

Avangard goalkeeper Nikita Serebryakov blocked 59 of 60 shots and set a personal best, Sport-Express notes.

In the next match, Metallurg will play with Astana club Barys on November 29, Avangard will play in a home match with Sochi on December 4.

Earlier, on November 25, Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik hockey club defeated Avangard Omsk in a KHL regular season match with a score of 6.:5. Nikita Khoruzhev and Andrey Belozerov scored a double, and Ivan Nikolishin and German Tochilkin added one goal each.
