Karpin spoke about the reasons for leaving the post of Dynamo head coach
The head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, who left the post of head coach of FC Dynamo, admitted that the decision to combine work in the national team with work at FC Moscow was a mistake. He told about it on November 27 to the edition of "Sport-Express".
Commenting on his departure from FC, Karpin explained the reasons and told how it affected him.
"I didn't finish something - 100% yes, it's a feeling, it's there, it will remain, perhaps it will remain forever. But to say that because of this experience... That is, there were feelings, yes, when I made such a decision. Did you overestimate your strength? Probably, yes. I thought, to be honest, yes, I was mistaken," said the sports specialist.
Karpin added that his decision was also influenced by accumulated fatigue. At the same time, at the moment, the issue of combining with any position is closed for him.
Karpin announced his decision to leave the post of head coach of FC Dynamo Moscow on November 17, noting that it was balanced and deliberate. The specialist thanked the management, the players and all the staff of the club, and wished the team success in the current season. He added that he intends to focus on working for the national team, as the team's results are his only priority.
On the same day, Russian football player Rolan Gusev, who is part of the coaching staff of FC Dynamo Moscow, was appointed acting head coach of the club.
