The Russian ambassador pointed to Britain's desire to continue arming Ukraine.
Britain lives in a world of illusions, London hopes to continue arming Ukraine and trying to put pressure on Russia. This was announced on November 26 by Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Andrey Kelin.
"I would say that politicians are now living in a world of illusions in London. They know perfectly well that the negotiation process is underway, they know the approximate outlines of the agreement. <...> Nevertheless, they are not taking a step forward," he said on the 60 Minutes program on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
According to him, the UK is only interested in stopping the fighting, not a peace plan for Ukraine. They continue the policy of arming Kiev, while not realizing that the issue is not the lack of weapons, but the lack of the necessary number of replenishment of the Ukrainian armed forces, the ambassador noted.
On November 21, Bloomberg reported that the British leadership had approved a plan to send troops to Ukraine in the event of an end to the conflict. It was noted that the military is planned to be deployed far from the line of contact and the borders of Russia.
On November 1, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the financing of Ukraine by European countries sponsorship of terrorism. At the same time, she stressed that the financing of Ukraine is sponsorship not at the private level, but at the state level.
