People's Artist of the RSFSR Vsevolod Shilovsky was an amazing artist, director and film actor. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Nevinniy shared his memories of him with Izvestia on November 26.

The actor recalled a childhood incident when Shilovsky came to visit them in a new mink hat, and his mother asked him to turn on the song of the band "Dschinghis Khan".

"His face with this papakha literally became the embodiment of the Tatar-Mongol warrior. It was incredibly funny: even I, a child who didn't understand anything, roared with laughter, and the adult artists just couldn't stop. He began to portray a horseman, galloping around the room, as if leading an entire army," the artist said.

He noted that this scene was forever etched into his memory. The actor added that he felt an almost kindred feeling for Shilovsky, and his passing away was an irreparable loss for him.

"He is the "flesh of the flesh" of that old, classic Moscow Art Theater. <...> A true heir of the school, where the spirit of Stanislavsky still hovered," concluded Nevinniy.
