French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to send troops to Ukraine as part of the Coalition of the Willing initiative will lead to an armed clash with Russia. This opinion was expressed on November 25 by the leader of the French right-wing party "Patriots" Florian Philippot.

"With such a plan, a direct confrontation with Russia is guaranteed sooner or later! He (Macron. — Ed.) hides it, but he knows it perfectly well," the politician wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Philippot called the decision to deploy troops insane and also urged not to send "a single French soldier" to Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Macron said that the "coalition of the willing" plans to deploy its forces "on the second line, far from the front" after the end of hostilities. According to him, sites in Kiev and Odessa may become a possible option for deploying forces.

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said on October 14 that a foreign military contingent in Ukraine would be considered a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces.
