Modular detoxification facility may be built in Primorsky Krai

The authorities of Primorsky Krai are discussing the allocation of a land plot and the construction of the region's first detoxification facility. It will provide assistance to people under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to the PrimaMedia news agency, the Ministry of Health of Primorye is considering the possibility of launching a pilot project in Vladivostok. Since there is no suitable premises in the city, the issue of building a modular detox center on a vacant land plot is being resolved.

From 2023 to 2025, the police recorded almost 6,700 cases of violations of Article 20.21 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Appearance in public places in a state of intoxication"). The number of those who needed hospitalization increased from 932 people in 2023 to 1.1 thousand people in 2024. In the first five months of 2025, 244 citizens needed hospitalization.
