Over the past week, residents of the Irkutsk region have given more than 20 million rubles to fraudsters. 22 people were injured.

The scammers used various deception schemes and communication methods. In Angarsk and Ust-Kut, four cases of fraud with a total loss of 10.3 million rubles were registered during the week. The attackers convinced the victims to transfer funds to "secure" accounts. To be convincing, the scammers presented themselves as law enforcement officers and public utilities. In Irkutsk, a woman lost 3.3 million rubles. The victim expected to receive income from investments and trusted the scammers. In a similar way, scammers deceived residents of Winter, Usolye-Sibirsky, Shelekhov, Bratsk and the village of Chunsky, the amount of damage ranged from 50 thousand to 1.8 million rubles.

In the Sakhalin region, a woman gave 4.5 million rubles to fraudsters. The scammers convinced the victim that her savings were allegedly under threat.
