The Belarusian Foreign Ministry pointed to the isolation of the EU from the republic
Belarus does not isolate itself from the countries of the European Union (EU), the union isolates itself from the republic. This was announced on November 25 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Maxim Ryzhenkov.
"In our work, we do not isolate ourselves from the European Union," he said at a press conference of the foreign ministers of Russia and Belarus.
Ryzhenkov noted that the situation looks paradoxical, since by limiting contacts with Belarus and Russia, the European Union is actually isolating itself.
At the same time, as the minister noted, a security conference is being held in Minsk, which has become an important platform for discussing key issues in this area in Europe.
Ryzhenkov said on October 28 that Belarus was ready to resume cooperation with the EU, subject to a number of preconditions. He emphasized that Brussels needs to restore the previously existing formats of interaction, including agreements between border and customs authorities, as well as lift restrictive measures against Belarus.
