The court declared the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Timur Ivanov bankrupt. This was reported on November 25 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

The former deputy minister was detained on April 23, 2024. He is charged with accepting a bribe. It was clarified that the person involved colluded with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense. Ivanov signed contracts with them in exchange for remuneration.

On July 1, he was sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony and ordered to pay a fine of 100 million rubles. The former deputy minister was also stripped of his state award and the title of Honored Builder of the Russian Federation.

On August 27, a new criminal case was opened against Ivanov. On September 23, it became known that on November 6, the court would hold a preliminary hearing on the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation for the seizure of the property of the former Deputy Minister of Defense to the state revenue.

On October 22, Ivanov's lawyer reported that the former deputy defense minister had expressed his willingness to go to the special military operation zone.

Two days later, it became known that the Mosenergosbyt company filed a lawsuit in the magistrate's court against Ivanov, who was convicted of embezzlement and embezzlement due to debts on utility bills.
