The European Union (EU) fears the failure of the plan to issue a loan to Kiev at the expense of frozen assets of Russia. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on November 25.

The publication notes that the concern of European diplomats is caused by the ongoing negotiations between Washington and Kiev as part of the approval of the US plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, negotiations on the issue of Europe's use of Russian frozen assets are currently ongoing.

Some diplomats are hoping for pressure from US President Donald Trump on Belgium and other EU countries that doubt the use of Russian assets to join the plan of the American president. According to him, part of the Russian assets will be used along with joint EU bonds or direct contributions from EU governments to provide loans to Ukraine, the newspaper said.

The day before, the Financial Times newspaper, citing a statement by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsa, reported on the reduction of Trump's plan to 19 points from 28.

Later, Bloomberg, citing European officials, said that the provision on the allocation of about $ 100 billion from frozen Russian assets for the reconstruction of Ukraine was removed from the latest version of the US peace plan. It was noted that initially the plan envisaged receiving 50% of the profit from the implementation of this scenario by the United States.

On November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow had received a 28-point plan from Washington, which, according to him, could be used "as the basis for a final peaceful settlement."
