Since the beginning of the year, the production of medicines for the respiratory system and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in the capital has doubled. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

He noted that on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city actively supports pharmaceutical enterprises. "A wide range of drugs are produced in the capital, and more than 300 manufacturers of medicines and medical devices work here," Liksutov said.

In January-September 2025, Moscow enterprises produced more than 18 million packages of medicines for the cardiovascular system, almost 2.4 times more than in the three quarters of 2024, the deputy mayor noted. Also, twice as many drugs were released for the treatment of respiratory system organs — 6.1 million packages. Compared to January-September 2024, the production of antitumor drugs and immunomodulators also increased by almost 10% to about 3.2 million packages.

"In general, the production of medicines and medical supplies in the city increased by 2.9 percent in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The volume of goods shipped over the same period increased by 28.6 percent, to 261.5 billion rubles," said Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow government and head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, noting that Moscow sets standards, supports innovation and increases the export potential of the country's pharmaceutical industry.

To date, the city has concluded eight offset contracts for the supply of medicines. According to four projects, investors have completed the creation of production facilities and started supplying drugs. All of them are produced in the capital.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that one of the largest pharmaceutical clusters in the country, which unites 14 developers and manufacturers of medicines, is being formed at the Alabushevo and Pechatniki sites of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone.
