In Britain, they announced the consequences of the corruption scandal for Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will not be able to avoid the consequences of the corruption scandal. This was announced on January 24 by the leader of the British Workers' Party, George Galloway, on his YouTube channel.
"Zelensky will not get away with theft of this scale. Perhaps someone is already thinking about how to bring him to justice," he said.
Galloway condemned the behavior of European politicians who uncontrollably sent money to finance the conflict. He explained that the West had allocated a total of $45 billion to Kiev, which had been stolen by Ukrainian officials.
On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) established a money laundering scheme in the energy sector of the state, through which about $100 million passed. Later, on November 11, it was reported that in Ukraine, seven people were charged with corruption in the energy sector, including Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme). The members of the group received illegal benefits from the contracts of Energoatom. In addition, they legalized the funds through a back office in Kiev.
On November 12, a court in Kiev arrested Dmitry Basov, Director of Security at Energoatom, for two months with a $1 million bail. At the same time, Zelensky demanded the resignation of Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and Justice Minister German Galushchenko.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezuglaya said on November 19 that the energy minister had fled the country amid a corruption scandal. On the same day, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Galushchenko. At the same time, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that corruption schemes on the territory of the state were led personally by Zelensky and the head of his office, Andrei Ermak. As the former prime minister noted, Yermak could not act without the approval of Zelensky, who was aware of the affairs of his "closest assistant."
