On November 22, eight-time Russian weightlifting champion Mikhail Koklyaev, in an interview with Izvestia, called boxer Alexei Papin one of the most promising athletes in Russia.

"I've known Alexey for a long time, I've been watching his performances and I'll say that he's one of our most promising boxers. <...> And I'm sure Time Square Garden will be waiting for him someday," he said.

According to the forecasts of the weightlifter, Papin will be able to demonstrate beautiful classic boxing in the upcoming fight. Koklyaev is confident that the Russian boxer will be able to stretch the fight to the end, not allowing the opponent to realize his attacking actions, and eventually "declass" the opponent.

The 38-year-old Papin's fight with Cameroonian Rolly Lambert Fogum will take place as part of the REN TV Fight Club tournament in Vologda on November 28. Papin is an international master of sports, an absolute world champion in kickboxing and a former IBF International champion. Cameroonian fighter Fogum holds the titles of African Champion, Asian Champion and IBF intercontinental title, and in 2024 won the vacant WBF world title.
