A special rapid reaction unit (SBR) detained members of a gang that abducted participants in a special military operation (SVO), and then extorted money from them under torture. This was announced on November 22 by a source of Izvestia.

It is noted that the criminals threatened not only the military themselves, but also their families.

Ruslan Kartoev, an active member of the Batalhaji group, is allegedly among those detained.

On October 9, it was reported that the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation had put on the international wanted list three defendants in a criminal case of embezzlement of funds from ITS participants at Sheremetyevo Airport. They were charged in absentia with participating in an organized criminal community, embezzlement and extortion. According to the investigation's petition, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia.

Later, on October 24, Vladimir Bardin, the head of the Lobnenskaya OPS, was arrested in the case of embezzlement from SVO fighters in Sheremetyevo. He was charged under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in a criminal community").
