A family evacuated from Novoekonomicheskoye told about the rescue by the Somalia detachment

On November 21, members of the Trubin family, evacuated from the village of Novoeconomichoe in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), told Izvestia the story of their rescue by soldiers of the legendary Somalia battalion and recalled the trials they endured in the village surrounded by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at that time.

Lyudmila Trubina told Izvestia correspondent Evgeny Bykovsky that since May of this year they had been living in the basement, having lost everything they had. According to the woman, the gas-smelling street has become a deadly danger zone due to the incessant fighting involving tanks, mortars and kamikaze drones. She recalls that their area was bombarded with rockets, which set their house on fire.

Talking about her evacuation from Novoekonomichesky, Lyudmila notes that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) appeared every now and then on their very "difficult path". Her daughter added that the Russian military personnel who helped rescue them had trained them in behavior that should be broadcast if Ukrainian drones appeared on the horizon.

"The boys are doing great! They prepared us mentally, they told us how to behave, and they simply kept us safe. <...> At every point, the boys offered us drinks and snacks," Lyudmila shared.

She clarified that the attitude of the servicemen, for which she gave them a "low bow", was very pleasant. The evacuee noted the work of the battalion commander, who managed to organize this operation and send guides for the Trubins.

On November 18, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the evacuation of eight civilians from Krasnoarmeysk to the DPR by soldiers of the 71st separate special forces battalion of the Center group of forces. Nikita Tetetrin, a scout who took part in this operation, said that before taking people out of their hiding place, the Russian military instructed them. He also clarified that the evacuation route had been checked in advance by operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
