Most Russian car owners do not plan to change their car in 2026. They are ready to keep their usual vehicle, despite the appearance of new products, according to the results of a study conducted by the international franchise network of car service Fit Service, which was reviewed by Izvestia.
According to a survey conducted in October, the majority of car owners (80%) are not considering upgrading in the coming year, they are ready to continue servicing and operating a proven car.
Only 9% are thinking about selling an old car and buying another used car. Only 6% of the respondents plan to buy a new car. A small proportion (3%) of respondents are thinking of selling their car, not buying anything in return and switching to carsharing or public transport.
At the same time, more than 70% of the survey participants noted that a car is vital for them and it is difficult to imagine everyday life without it. But every fourth driver reported that the car is important, but they are ready to use an alternative to personal transport. Only 4% are confident that they can easily do without a car.
