To receive an average pension of 25 thousand rubles, a Russian must accumulate at least 111.8 points of the individual retirement coefficient (IPC). This was announced on November 21 by Sofya Blagova, PhD in Economics, lecturer at the Institute of International Economic Relations.

With an average salary in the country, this can be achieved in 27-28 years of insurance experience.

"Russians need to have at least 30 retirement points and 15 years of experience in order to receive an old-age insurance pension. The IPC has been operating in Russia since 2015 and directly depends on the amount of insurance premiums that the employer transfers to the Social Fund of Russia," Blagova clarified in an interview withГазета.Ru ".

The points depend on the salary level: at the minimum wage (22 thousand rubles), less than one point is awarded per year, at the average salary (92,866 rubles) — about four points. A maximum of ten points can be scored in a year, the expert added, emphasizing that the higher the official income, the faster the future pension grows.

Earlier, on November 20, Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said that old-age insurance pensions will be indexed by 7.6% in 2026, which is higher than inflation. According to him, this should be expected in January, and not in February, as previously expected.
