On Friday, November 21, at a meeting of Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the issue of obtaining integrated environmental permits (CER) by businesses was considered. This legal mechanism regulates all permissible types of environmentally harmful effects of the work of the largest enterprises, as well as dangerous activities for nature.

First of all, legal entities and sole proprietors whose activities are carried out at facilities included in Group I according to the degree of negative impact on the environment should receive CER. The transition to such a nature-protecting system started in 2019. All this time, the government has been paying great attention to adapting businesses to obtain all the necessary documents when applying for a permit. At the same time, very soon enterprises will be able to issue a comprehensive environmental permit on the Gosulugi portal.

"Since the beginning of 2025, about a thousand companies have received comprehensive environmental permits. In total, at the moment, more than three thousand six hundred enterprises have successfully completed the task. 152 more applications are currently under consideration by Rosprirodnadzor. The purpose of this is not to increase the burden on enterprises, but to continuously increase the level of environmental responsibility of businesses. Enterprises should smoothly switch from outdated and resource—intensive technologies to more modern ones," said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.

In early November, the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) told Izvestia that the latest waste recycling complexes would be built in four regions of the country, and more than 6 billion rubles would be allocated for them.
