The All-Russian action "Wish Tree" starts
On November 20, the All-Russian Santa Claus from Veliky Ustyug arrived in Moscow and launched the annual Christmas Tree of Wishes campaign, which has been uniting Russians since 2018.
It is specified that the organizer of the All-Russian action "Wish Tree" is the "Movement of the First". The campaign accepts applications from children in need of special support: children with disabilities who are in a life-threatening condition or have a disability, orphans and children left without parental care, as well as children from low-income families.
In addition, the "Wish Tree" applies to children of military personnel participating in their military operations and children living in Donbass, Novorossiya and the regions bordering them that are being shelled.
"The younger generation of my wonderful assistants is growing up, I trust them, I give them magical powers, fabulous ones, so that on New Year's Eve all people who, unfortunately, will have to celebrate the New Year not at home, because the New Year is the most family holiday, at home, right? And they will meet me at work. <...> My assistants promise me that no one, grandfather, will be left without a gift, without a good mood," Santa Claus told reporters.
In January, during the New Year holidays, the events of the Christmas Tree of Wishes charity event were held at the headquarters of the Southern Military District (SE) in Rostov-on-Don. As part of the campaign, the children were given a joint gift and a trip to a virtual reality club was organized for them. And all the gifts they desired were presented to them at their home by Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden.
