Russia and China have significantly expanded the number of joint operational and combat training activities on land, at sea and in the air. This was announced on November 20 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China, Colonel General Zhang Youxia, during the visit of the Chinese delegation to Moscow.

"Their goal is to ensure the security of the two countries. I would like to emphasize that they are not directed against third parties," Belousov said.

He noted that the countries' military cooperation is based on trust and understanding of the interests of their partners. In addition, he stressed that the friendly, trusting relations between the heads of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, play a key role in strengthening ties between the two countries.

"Under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Putin, Sino-Russian relations have maintained a healthy and stable dynamic of high—level development," Zhang said.

He added that during his visit to Russia, he is ready to implement the important agreements that the leaders of the countries have concluded.

Earlier, on November 13, Putin, in the framework of the United Russia–Chinese Communist Party dialogue, said that cooperation between the Russian Federation and China in international matters contributes to building a more just world order. The Russian leader noted that relations between Russia and China are developing dynamically, in the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership, and the two countries are fruitfully cooperating in a variety of areas.

During a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang on November 18, Putin said that relations between Russia and China were going through the best period of their history. In addition, Russia and China are doing a lot of work within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which contributes to the establishment of the SCO as one of the pillars of the multipolar world order.
