A new terminal has been opened at the Murmansk airport. Its construction has been underway since 2023.
The opening ceremony was attended by Governor Andrey Chibis, Deputy Head of Government — Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov, as well as Deputy CEO of Novaport Alexander Korytny.
The area of the new terminal exceeds 7.5 thousand square meters. m. The capacity should be 400 passengers per hour. Bi-port News agency compares the capacity of the old terminal, which was two times less, 200 people per hour.

By 2030, 6 billion rubles are planned to be invested in the reconstruction of the airport in Murmansk. 60% of this amount will be transferred from the federal budget, 40% will be private investments. The reconstruction is carried out within the framework of the concession agreement.
Earlier it was reported that about 16.5 billion rubles are required to upgrade and maintain the transport system in the Murmansk Region in 2026. The projected costs for the relevant state program were approved by members of the Committee on Transport, Road Management and Informatization of the regional Duma. A significant part of the costs — 6 billion rubles — is planned to be spent on the reconstruction of the Apatity –Kirovsk highway.
