The Organizing Committee of the Future Technologies Forum has determined the dates and venue of the fourth Forum – February 26-27, 2026 at the World Trade Center in Moscow. In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Forum will be devoted to the formation of bioeconomics in the Russian Federation and the application of biotechnologies in economic sectors.
The upcoming Future Technologies Forum will bring together Russian and foreign scientists, leading scientific organizations, major manufacturers, technology leaders in the field of bioeconomics, and key agencies overseeing the implementation of the national project to ensure technological leadership in the field of Bioeconomics, which will launch in Russia in 2026.
"Russia has all the necessary raw materials, personnel and key competencies to achieve the goals of leadership in the field of bioeconomics. The new national project aims to create conditions and scientific infrastructure for the development of breakthrough biotechnologies and launch technological chains for their introduction into the economy. To do this, it is necessary to unite many players, find common ground and optimize interaction between market participants. The dialogue between industry participants at the Future Technologies Forum in February will be aimed at coordinating measures to implement the national project," said Anton Kobyakov, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the Future Technologies Forum, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
The National Bioeconomics project is aimed at the rational use of biological resources and the use of biotechnologies in scientific, technological and economic activities. The national project provides for measures for the development and implementation of biotechnologies in the agro-industrial complex, veterinary medicine, industry, ecology, timber industry, medicine and energy. The goal of the national project is to achieve technological sovereignty in the bioeconomy by 2030 by reducing import dependence by 2 times, and by 2036 by creating conditions for the formation of new markets and technological leadership.
"National bioeconomy development plans have been adopted in China, the USA, Brazil and other countries. Russia has significant competencies and a scientific and technological base for the development of this sector of the economy. The national project provides support measures that will make it possible to effectively use existing resources and stimulate the development of industries in order to achieve technological leadership in the field of bioeconomics," said Denis Manturov, curator of the Bioeconomics national project, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
The national project includes three federal projects providing for measures to organize the production and promotion of bioeconomics products, scientific and technological development of the industry, and its analytical and human resources support. It provides for the creation of centers for piloting and scaling bioeconomics products, training centers, conducting scientific research, promoting Russian bioeconomics products in foreign markets, introducing digital solutions and domestic software in production facilities, and other measures to support the industry.
As part of the national project, leading manufacturing companies and scientific organizations will act as qualified customers and developers of bioeconomics technologies. Promising projects include the production of microbiological protein, biofibers, starter cultures and algae, the creation of domestic bioclusters for processing starch-containing raw materials and the production of microbial synthesis products, the production of enzyme preparations based on microbial platforms, and much more.
The Forum will host a traditional exhibition where market leaders, high-tech enterprises and scientific organizations will present cutting-edge developments and the latest innovative solutions in the field of bioeconomics. The exhibition participants will demonstrate projects at various stages of implementation, from laboratory development to industrial applications. On the eve of the Future Technologies Forum, a scientific conference dedicated to promising research in the field of bioeconomics will be held.
