On November 20, an expanded meeting of the Council under the President of Russia for the implementation of state policy in the field of support for the Russian language and the languages of the country's peoples was held in Moscow. The meeting was attended by Elena Yampolskaya, Chairman of the Council, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education.

Russian Russian Language Council was established in order to improve the preservation, development, and support of the Russian language and strengthen the position of the Russian language in the world. During the meeting, Yampolskaya spoke about the progress of the implementation of the foundations of the state language policy, as well as the preparation of unified state textbooks on the Russian language and literature, which will be introduced into educational institutions from 2027.

"We are creating the first single line of state textbooks on Russian language and literature for the entire post-Soviet period, not only for schools, but also for the secondary vocational education system. The first textbooks for grades five through seven and 10-11 should be introduced into Russian schools on September 1, 2027, and the rest of the textbooks from September 1, 2028," she said.

Kravtsov added that unified federal programs in all subjects, including Russian language and literature, and appropriate advanced training courses for teachers have also been approved. It is noted that when creating educational materials, the wishes of schoolchildren, their parents, teachers and modern educational requirements were taken into account.

In addition, the meeting announced the holding of the First International Forum of School Librarians in December this year, which will bring together more than a thousand participants from Russia and abroad.

On November 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that culture and the Russian language are a guarantee of Russia's unity, so they need to be protected. The President added that the culture, customs and languages of all the peoples of the country are especially important for Russia, and the diversity of these cultures is the basis of national policy.
