The auto expert listed the common failures of Chery crossovers
One of the most common problems faced by owners of the popular Chery Tiggo crossovers is the steering rack. When running about 60-70 thousand km, characteristic knocks may appear. This was stated by Andrey Kuzin, head of the Yaroslavskoye Highway Fit Service, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on November 19.
The most common cause of knocks in the steering rack is the rapid wear of the assembly, which depends on the driving style and road quality. In addition, according to the expert, the Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 8 quickly wear out the silentblocks of the front levers (especially the rear vertical ones). The list of common ones also includes problems with stabilizer bars and ball bearings.
When buying a used Chery Tiggo series, new owners should pay the cost of repairing the suspension, the expert noted. He pointed out that the engines of these crossovers are quite reliable, as are the electronics with attachments. Tiggo owners also rarely encounter transmission problems.
In general, Chery's after-sales service does not differ from competitors in terms of cost and regularity. The Tiggo 4, 7 and 8 models are predictable in service: weaknesses are known, solutions to problems have been worked out, and no significant surprises have been observed yet, the specialist added.
Earlier, on November 10, Evgeny Evteev, director of the Fit Service car service and detailing center, said that owners of Chinese cars in Russia often contact car service stations with complaints about the operation of various electronic systems — sensors, multimedia units, sunroof drives and windows. They often fail or do not work correctly, such problems are more often observed in the cold season, the expert noted.
