The expert explained the rules on salary payments in December and January

Before the New Year holidays, employees will receive their pay at the end of December for both January and December. Payments will be made no later than December 30 of the current year. This was announced on November 19 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, in a conversation with Izvestia.

She pointed out that wages in Russia are paid twice a month, and specific dates are set by collective agreements, agreements or local regulations of the employer. According to the MP, payments are usually distributed in equal parts at regular intervals.

Speaking about the December schedule, Bessarab clarified that for employees who have one part of their salary for the period from the 1st to the 11th, the funds will be transferred before the start of the long New Year's weekend.

"Wages will be paid no later than December 30, that is, no later than the last working day before the start of the weekend, since we have a day off on December 31 and we rest until January 11 inclusive," she said.
