A father and son from Bashkiria told about their joint service in the Center group

Servicemen of the 268th self-propelled artillery Regiment of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of forces, father and son Vitaly and Roman Armanshin from Bashkortostan, together carry out tasks in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). They told Izvestia about their service on November 19.

The history of the Armanshin family joining the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began in 2022. Roman has been a senior gunner since February 2022, after which he became commander of a combat vehicle, and in 2024 he was appointed platoon commander.

"I don't want to stop anymore. It will end with our victory and we will continue to serve," Roman said.

Vitaly signed a contract at the end of July 2022, and joined Roman on the battlefield in early August. Before signing the contract, the man was a tractor driver, so he is familiar with the technology. He is currently serving as a combat vehicle driver.

Father and son may not always see each other, but they try to cross paths and periodically call each other. On the Day of the Rocket Forces and Artillery, the men were able to meet and call their family in Bashkiria.

At times when the drones of the Russian Armed Forces are unable to support the fighters, for example, due to weather conditions in the form of fog, the 152-millimeter Hyacinth-B howitzer is used to protect and support the Russian army.

This gun works on enemy manpower and equipment at any time of the day and has a range of 30 km. Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan, who was at the position, noted the work of our artillery and added that the advantage in artillery barrels provides fire support to our troops storming Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov.

"The gun is good. It has a range of 30 km. This is (a howitzer. — Ed.) the gunners have a rifle," said Valery Ionov, the commander of the cannon.

Earlier, on October 19, a serviceman of the Center group of forces, a sniper with the call sign Granit, covered his son with the call sign Manul from an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) during the sweep of Kurakhov. The relatives serve in the 110th Guards Brigade of the 51st Guards Army of the Southern Military District.
