Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Mongolian Prime Minister Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar to discuss further diplomatic relations between the two countries and a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The meeting took place on Tuesday, November 18, in the Kremlin.

"We are very pleased that the situation is at a good level in terms of expanding cooperation," the Russian president said during the meeting, which was broadcast by the Kremlin's press service.

During the meeting, Putin noted that diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia have been developing steadily for 105 years. According to him, in the first eight months of 2025, a positive trend of increasing interstate trade was recorded.

The Russian President expressed hope for holding a meeting of the inter-legal commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation before the end of 2026.

On September 2, the Russian President took part in talks in Beijing with the leader of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and the head of Mongolia, Uhnaagiin Khurelsukh. The summit discussed the results of the joint work carried out by these states over the past three years. In addition, at the seventh negotiations of this format, the leaders were able to outline further plans for cooperation.
