The ice crossing between Salekhard and Labytnangi will be opened in early December.

Yamal's main ice crossing is scheduled to open in early December. Road workers began to freeze ice on the section of the Ob River between Salekhard and Labytnangi on November 13.

According to the <url> news agency, the ice is not yet strong enough for the automatic pumps on tractors to leave. Specialists fill the ice with water with hand-held motor pumps to freeze a sufficient layer for safe movement of vehicles.

At the moment, the thickness of the ice is about 20 cm. It takes 35 cm for the ferry to work. Protective poles have already been installed along the ice route. The length of the ferry is about 1.8 km.

Since November 9, the Neptune-23 hovercraft, which carry passengers, have been regularly moving along the route.
