Russian football player Rolan Gusev, who is a member of the coaching staff of the Moscow football club Dynamo, has been appointed acting head coach of the club after Valery Karpin's departure. This was announced on November 17 by the team's press service.

"Rolan Gusev has been appointed acting head coach of Dynamo. Rolan Alexandrovich has been working on the Dynamo coaching staff since the summer of 2023 and already served as the team's head coach at the end of last season," the team's Telegram channel says.

The press service reminds that 48-year-old Gusev is himself a graduate of Dynamo. He played 161 matches for his hometown club and scored 28 goals against the blue and white rivals. The footballer holds the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia and is the winner of the UEFA Cup.

At the beginning of his coaching career, he worked with the CSKA youth team, winning the Youth Football League with it, as well as at the CSKA Academy and the Russian youth national teams.

Karpin announced earlier on November 17 that he had made the decision to leave the post of head coach of FC Dynamo Moscow, it is balanced and deliberate. The specialist thanked the management, the players and all the staff of the club, and wished the team success in the current season. Currently, Karpin intends to focus on his work in the national team. He noted that the team's results are his only priority.
