Russians were advised to have sex to prevent prostate cancer
Regular sexual activity reduces the risk of prostate cancer by 20%. This was stated on November 17 by Candidate of Medical Sciences, oncologist Roman Leonenkov in an interview "Газете.Ru ".
According to him, daily sex and a healthy lifestyle, including physical activity and a balanced diet, help reduce the impact of risk factors on men's health.
"The development of the disease is influenced by factors such as age, heredity and race — they cannot be changed. But we can change our diet and lifestyle. For example, it has been proven that regular sexual activity reduces the risk of prostate cancer by 20%. The studies compared groups with daily and weekly sex," Leonenkov explained.
The expert stressed that men often go to the doctor only at the insistence of relatives, and open discussions of men's diseases help to identify dangerous pathologies in time.
"If we talk more about this topic and explain how prostate cancer is safely and effectively treated, we can significantly increase men's alertness and save many lives," he concluded.
Earlier, on October 22, it was reported that mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes increase the risk of developing triple-negative breast cancer, and may also contribute to prostate and pancreatic cancer. Experts recommend genetic screening in the presence of diseases in close relatives.
