Sobyanin spoke about a new approach to providing cardiovascular care

The creation of short-stay hospitals in Moscow represents a new approach to providing cardiovascular care. This opinion was expressed by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, such hospitals operate in 28 adult and children's hospitals in the city. "Some of them provide assistance in the field of cardiovascular surgery," Sobyanin wrote in the MAX messenger. "Patients receive high—tech medical care here without long-term hospitalization."

Operations on the heart and blood vessels in such hospitals are now performed in a "one-day" mode. "The patient arrives in the morning, has an operation, and returns home the same day under the outpatient supervision of specialists," the mayor said.

In the first nine months of this year, short-stay hospitals (UPCs) admitted almost 8.5 thousand adult patients of this profile. Last year, this figure was 4.9 thousand, two years earlier — 2.8 thousand.

Radiofrequency vein ablation, that is, minimally invasive surgery for the effective treatment of varicose veins, is among the manipulations performed in the UPC. "Implantable pacemakers and defibrillators are diagnosed and checked in just 15-20 minutes," the mayor wrote.

According to him, "comfort, speed and quality in the network of such hospitals meet international standards."

Earlier in November, Sobyanin said that high-tech medical care was becoming more accessible to children in Moscow. "Today, modern technologies are used in all children's hospitals in the city," said the mayor. — Moscow doctors successfully use many new and unique developments, from innovative genetically engineered and cellular drugs to minimally invasive surgical interventions. All this allows doctors to succeed in treating even the most serious diseases."

According to the mayor, over the past year alone, the number of children who have been provided with high-tech treatment in city hospitals within the framework of the pediatrics profile has increased by 44%.
