Russians who own real estate, transport, and land have been instructed on the procedure for charging penalties for late payment of taxes in 2025. According to calculations based on the norm of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, the penalty will amount to 1/300 of the current key rate of the Central Bank, which is about 5.5 kopecks per day for every 100 rubles of debt. This was reported on November 16.

Accrual is made daily from the moment of arrears formation until full repayment. The Tax Service reminded that all notifications have already been sent to citizens and are available in their personal account on the FTS website, in the mobile application and on the public services portal.

"The absence of a notification received does not remove the obligation to pay tax. In case of late payment, a daily penalty is provided for each overdue day," the agency emphasizes.

The payment deadline is set until December 1, 2025, and penalties will begin to accrue on December 2.

According to RIA Novosti, in case of further delay, the Federal Tax Service will send an official demand for repayment of the debt, and if ignored, collection may be initiated, including the withdrawal of funds from accounts without a court decision. In addition to penalties, fines are possible, and if heavily indebted, criminal liability is possible.

Earlier, on November 14, FinExpertiza reported that the Federal Tax Service had accrued a record 5 billion rubles of tax on expensive cars, worth from 10 million rubles. The increase in revenue is attributed to an increase in the number of premium cars and the updating of the model range, including the addition of Chinese brand cars.
