In Crimea, in honor of National Unity Day, a Russian record was set for performing the Kalinka dance. It was attended by 1,054 people representing 55 nationalities.

As Olga Sobeschanskaya, head of the commission for veterans' support, family protection, children and traditional family values, said, such events demonstrate well that Crimea is a territory of friendship and mutual understanding, where every culture has its rightful place. Setting a record is a symbolic act confirming unity.

The performance was held during the interregional festival of national theaters "Crimean Inspiration". The record was officially registered with the international agency Interrecord. It is included in the register of records of Russia, writes IA SevastopolMedia.

Earlier it was reported that an eight-year-old Irkutsk resident set a world record for bench press. Svyatogor Panfilov lifted 42.5 kg without equipment. The young athlete exceeded the previous achievement by 5 kg. The record was set at the European Open Cup in St. Petersburg. Svyatogor is the son of European shot put champion Grigory Panfilov.
