The designer named the main trends of New Year's decor
Modern trends in interior design reflect the desire for comfort, individuality and the preservation of cultural traditions. On the eve of the New Year, Ksenia Kuznetsova, designer and product director of the interior company Mr.Doors, told Izvestia on November 16 which directions will determine the style of the festive decor.
She noted that natural motifs continue to strengthen their positions: fir branches, wood, cotton, berries, cones and nuts are in the trend. Such elements are suitable both for decorating fir trees and for interior compositions, creating an atmosphere of naturalness and warmth. The retro-referenced decor also remains relevant. Family toys and timeless items are valued for their authenticity and ability to form an emotional bond between generations.
"Modern technologies are also penetrating into New Year's decoration: smart LED garlands, pattern projection and 3D illumination decorate the space, creating a unique festive lighting and atmosphere. Often, such decor is easily integrated into smart home technologies. This option will especially appeal to supporters of anything dynamic and innovative," Kuznetsova emphasized.
At the same time, the expert added, there is a noticeable increase in interest in decor with a national flavor — toys and elements inspired by folk crafts and works by Russian artists. This approach emphasizes cultural identity and becomes an important part of the festive atmosphere.
Arina Samoilova, an expert on home economics at the X5 Club loyalty program, revealed to Izvestia on November 12 the formula for calculating drinks for the New Year's table. According to her, the preparation should begin with making an accurate guest list, taking into account the possible visit of children. The classical calculation formula assumes 0.5 liters of alcoholic and 1 liter of non-alcoholic beverages per person, however, these standards can be adjusted depending on the duration of the celebration and the age of the guests.
