In Russia, a comprehensive system of state support has been built for the balanced operation of the agro-industrial complex (AIC), aimed at developing production, science, logistics, technical and technological capabilities of the industry. This was announced on November 12 by Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

"State support ensures a satisfactory financial situation for agricultural producers of all forms. And this, in turn, guarantees a stable product supply and increases its accessibility for citizens. Accordingly, the guidelines of the Food Security Doctrine have been achieved in the main positions. I would like to add that, despite all the challenges, for seven years in a row, our grain harvest has exceeded 120 million tons. The volume of livestock production is growing, and the food and processing industry is operating normally. We fully provide for ourselves. The surplus products are sent to foreign markets. Russian agricultural raw materials and foodstuffs are in demand in 160 countries around the world. At the same time, work is underway to increase the share of high-value-added goods in the export structure. But at the same time, stabilization measures are periodically needed in the domestic market to increase food availability and curb prices," the Deputy Prime Minister said during government hour, which was held in the State Duma.

Patrushev added that proposals are currently being prepared to amend the law "On Trade", which will provide for the obligation to conclude long-term contracts between networks and suppliers. The chosen approach will be able to guarantee the necessary volumes of products to the networks, and sales to the farmers.

In addition, to support the profitability of the agricultural business, the government provides other mechanisms aimed at ensuring the availability of material and technical resources. Work is also underway to increase self-sufficiency in seeds. For this purpose, both scientific research and replication of the obtained result are stimulated. If in 2022 the provision of seeds was about 60%, then this year the figure will reach 70%.

Now the industry has set new goals for increasing production volumes and developing exports. Their achievement is largely due to the introduction of innovative solutions. The agro-industry is actively moving forward in this area. By the end of this year, agricultural lands in all regions should be digitized, which will improve the quality of their use. Digital farm twins and robotic warehouses are being created, and the greenhouse sector of crop production is introducing automation.

Earlier, on October 27, Patrushev said that seasonal field work was coming to an end in Russia. The Deputy Prime Minister added that by 2030, the Russian Federation should seriously increase the volume of agricultural production, in addition, a national project in the field of technological leadership is being implemented, which directly concerns the agro-industrial complex and agriculture.
