The number of vacationers in the sanatoriums of the Kola Arctic increased by 7%

From the beginning of the year to September, 26.5 thousand people rested in the sanatoriums of the Murmansk region. The indicator increased by 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

According to the number of vacationers, the sanatoriums of the Kola Arctic Region were in fifth place in the North-Western Federal District. In the first place is St. Petersburg, where 68.8 thousand people have rested since the beginning of the year. Next are the Kaliningrad Region (68 thousand), the Novgorod Region (32.9 thousand), and the Vologda Region (27.6 thousand).

In general, in the sanatoriums of the North-Western Federal District, almost 300 thousand people rested in the first three quarters of this year.

The revenues of Murmansk sanatoriums for nine months amounted to 674.3 million rubles, an increase of 13% over the year. The total income of sanatoriums in the North-Western Federal District has also increased. It increased by 18.4%, to 11.4 million rubles.

Earlier it was reported that 99% of Russian sanatoriums faced a shortage of staff in 2025. As the Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Tourism told Izvestia, up to 40% of vacancies in health centers in Russia have not been filled. Due to the lack of necessary personnel, the quality of service is reduced.
