The Russian nuclear shield reliably protects Belarus, and the updated legal framework makes it possible to deploy all the latest types of weapons on the territory of the republic. This was announced on November 12 by Alexey Polishchuk, head of the second CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The Russian nuclear shield reliably protects our Belarusian allies, and the updated legal framework makes it possible to deploy any means of protection in the fraternal Republic, including all the latest types of weapons," the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.

Polishchuk confirmed plans to deploy Oreshnik missile systems in Belarus by the end of the year in addition to the already deployed Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons. Answering a question about possible supplies of the Burevestnik cruise missile, the diplomat reported that there were no such requests, noting that if they were received, the requests would be carefully studied by military specialists, taking into account the tactical and technical characteristics of the product.

The head of the Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed the active development of military and military-technical cooperation between the countries, including the functioning of a joint Regional group of forces and the successful holding of the Zapad-2025 strategic exercise. He also noted the strengthening of the legal framework, in particular the signing in 2024 of the Security Concept and the interstate agreement on Security guarantees, which provides for mutual defense obligations with the possibility of using all available forces and means, including nuclear weapons.

On November 10, Lukashenko said that Belarus had warned the United States about the presence of nuclear weapons. The President stressed that information on the number, location and characteristics of nuclear weapons is not subject to disclosure and that the relevant decisions are of a sovereign nature. According to him, actions have recently been carried out once again to maintain and maintain the combat readiness of the tactical nuclear arsenal.

On the same day, he said that the Oreshnik missile system, which will be put on combat duty in Belarus in December, will not be located in the same place. According to him, he will patrol at certain points and from one of them, if necessary, he will be able to strike.
