Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed the special importance of his state visit to Russia, which, according to him, takes bilateral relations to a new level. He announced this on November 12 at a meeting with Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
"This visit has a special significance in the history of our relations, as it brings the strategic partnership and allied relations between our countries to a new level. And the declaration that will be signed today is called bringing it to a new level," Tokayev said.
The President of Kazakhstan added that he had spent about two hours in a personal conversation with Vladimir Putin the day before, during which they discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and the international situation. Tokayev stressed that he had been carefully preparing for the visit, and all issues had been agreed upon by both sides.
Tokayev arrived in Moscow on an official visit on November 11. It was noted that he would sign a declaration on comprehensive strategic partnership with the President of Russia.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, noted that Russia and Kazakhstan are developing multifaceted cooperation covering almost all possible areas. He also stressed that the partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan is mutually beneficial.
