The Charge d'affaires in Turkey, Ivanov, announced Russia's readiness for negotiations with Ukraine.

Russia is ready for the Istanbul talks with Ukraine, despite the lack of initiative from Kiev. This was announced on November 12 by Charge d'affaires of Russia in Turkey Alexey Ivanov on the sidelines of the XVI Asian Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

"The Russian side has repeatedly stressed that we are ready to continue direct negotiations with the Ukrainian side, with the Ukrainian delegation. And our Turkish partners always emphasize that the Istanbul site remains at our disposal, these doors remain open for us," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.

Ivanov noted that Russia intends to start negotiations at any time when Ukraine is ready for them.

He added that during the previous negotiations, the Russian side had put forward a number of proposals to end the conflict in Ukraine, but had not received a positive reaction from Ukrainian colleagues.
