Kaliningrad can receive 1.4 billion rubles for air transportation on benefits. This was announced on November 11 by Vladimir Poteshkin, Deputy Minister of Transport, at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee dedicated to improving the mechanism for subsidizing air travel for residents of the Kaliningrad Region.

"In total, transportation on 21 routes will be subsidized in 2025. More than 1.4 billion rubles have been allocated for these purposes. Proposals are being worked out to allocate additional funds from the budget for such transportation in 2026," the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation said in its Telegram channel.

It is noted that more than 400 thousand people used preferential tariffs in 2025. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation recalled the existence of two preferential flight programs.

"The first is the regional transportation program. It connects Kaliningrad with 15 Russian cities, from Volgograd to Petrozavodsk.<...> The second is the social accessibility program. <...> Five carriers fly on six key routes, including Moscow and St. Petersburg," the agency stressed.
