Washington has overestimated the likelihood of Russia using tactical nuclear weapons during the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated on November 12 by representative of the US Democratic Party, Senator of Michigan Elissa Slotkin in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov (Vovan and Lexus).

"We were very concerned that Russia would use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine. <...> I think we may have exaggerated the threat," the senator said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out on November 6 that the Western media had distorted Russian President Vladimir Putin's words about possible nuclear tests at a meeting of the Security Council. He noted that most Western news outlets "distort" the meaning of what the Russian leader said and present information in a convenient way.

On November 7, political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Presidential Council on Interethnic Relations, said that the European Union (EU) countries are in a more vulnerable position on nuclear weapons, while Russia is leading in the field of advanced military-technical developments.
