The expert revealed the formula for calculating drinks for the New Year's table
The correct calculation of drinks for the New Year's feast will not only save the budget, but also avoid unforeseen situations during the holiday. Arina Samoilova, an expert on home economics at the X5 Club loyalty program, told Izvestia on November 12 that preparations should begin with drawing up an accurate guest list, taking into account the possible visit of children.
"The next key step is to identify the types of drinks, from alcoholic to hot, and it is important to remember that one person can consume drinks from different categories," the specialist said.
The classical calculation formula assumes 0.5 liters of alcoholic and 1 liter of non-alcoholic beverages per person, however, these standards can be adjusted depending on the duration of the celebration and the age of the guests.
For a company of 10 people, the optimal set will be 5 liters of alcohol, including champagne and wine, as well as 10 liters of soft drinks balanced between juices and mineral water. Separately, it is worth providing about a liter of hot drinks for the whole company.
The specialist recommends clarifying the preferences of the invited in advance in order to accurately create a list for purchases. An important rule is to create a strategic supply of drinks in case of a prolonged celebration or unexpected guests — this will allow you to celebrate the New Year without unnecessary worries and fuss.
Earlier it was reported that the New Year holidays in 2025-2026 will set a 12-year record for duration: Russians will receive 12 days of rest and will return to work only on January 12. In the last week of December, Russians will work only on Mondays and Tuesdays, after which, starting on December 31, the New Year holidays will begin.
