Serbia announced the possible transfer of control over NIS to owners from Russia
The Russian owners of NIS (Oil Industry of Serbia) have notified the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Treasury Department of their readiness to transfer control of it to a third party. This was announced on November 11 by Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Jedovic-Handanovic.
"The Russian owners of NIS have sent a request to OFAC requesting an extension of the operating license based on negotiations with a third party. The request says that the Russian side is ready to transfer control and influence over NIS to a third party," she wrote on her Instagram page (the social network belongs to Meta, a company recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
