Two men died as a result of a grenade explosion in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and a criminal case was opened into the incident. This was reported on November 10 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

According to the agency, there was a conflict between two local residents born in 1965 and 1966 over debt obligations. It is noted that during the quarrel, one of the men triggered a hand grenade.

"As a result, both men died at the scene," the department's Telegram channel says.

A criminal case was opened into the incident under Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal trafficking of explosive devices") and paragraphs "a", "e" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder of two persons committed in a generally dangerous manner").

The Investigative Committee added that the causes of the incident are currently being investigated, as well as the circumstances of the purchase of an explosive device.

Izvestia reported on October 27 that a safe with ammunition exploded in an apartment building in Nizhny Novgorod, injuring one person. According to local media, the owner of the apartment wanted to open the safe where the ammunition was stored with the help of a grinder, which could have caused an explosion.
