After 10 years in prison, the Lebanese authorities released Hannibal Gaddafi, the son of the country's deceased leader Muammar Gaddafi, who was serving time in connection with the abduction and disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and others in Libya. This was reported on November 10 by CNN Arabic.

It is specified that Hannibal Muammar Gaddafi was released from prison by the internal security forces after his lawyers posted a bail of $893,000. First, the defense appealed to the General Directorate of Public Security to regulate the legal status of the prisoner, as well as all detained foreigners.

"After that, the decision to release him was handed over to the prison governor, and he was released," the report says.

The Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported on November 6, citing sources, that a Lebanese court had decided to release the fifth son of the former Libyan leader, 50-year-old Hannibal Gaddafi, after 10 years in prison, and reduce his bail from $11 million to $900 thousand. The verdict, as specified, was delivered after a two-hour hearing, during which the defendant answered questions in the presence of his lawyers and the accusing party.
