Experts have warned of new schemes to deceive cybercriminals on Black Friday
The growth of digital literacy of the population forces attackers to come up with more and more complex schemes to deceive Russians. On the eve of Black Friday, scammers attack Russians via email and messengers and claim that the purchases they made gave them the right to participate in the raffle of valuable prizes. The experts of the Informzashita company told Izvestia about this on November 10.
According to them, the scammers offer victims to register on the site, while using an account on "Public Services". To be convincing, they create chats with the alleged participants of the practical jokes, most of whom are bots. After gaining access to "Public Services," attackers can steal valuable data, issue microloans, and gain access to other accounts, including in banking applications.
In addition, the user may be offered to make a supposedly profitable purchase and become a participant in a contest, the results of which will be announced within an hour. As a result, such haste forces a person to make rash decisions, which is required by intruders.
It is noted that when buying on a phishing site, a person loses not only money, but also their payment information, and may also become the owner of an unwanted loan.
Experts stressed that about a hundred such incidents have already been recorded in the fall of 2025, and during the Black Friday period their number may increase five to six times. They recommended that Russians ignore messages received from unknown senders and make purchases only on verified websites and marketplaces.
"Monitor the activity on your accounts: immediately block them if suspicious write—offs are detected," cybersecurity experts reminded.
The day before, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that fraudsters most often place fake ads related to financial services, employment, and housing and communal services, as well as distribute flyers with QR codes. In addition, job and part-time job advertisements are included in the list of common schemes.
