Rain mixed with sleet is expected in Moscow over the weekend
On Saturday and Sunday, occasional admixtures of wet snow in rainfall in Moscow are possible, but no significant deterioration in weather conditions is predicted. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia about this on November 10.
"The wind change to the north-west on Saturday will lead to some cooling, but temperature indicators will remain in the positive range of 0 ... +5 degrees," she said.
According to the meteorologist, the expected precipitation will not be intense and is unlikely to form a stable snow cover.
"We are talking only about individual particles of wet snow, which many people may not even notice. This is completely different from the situation with flakes of wet snow, when a snow cover forms for at least a few hours," Pozdnyakova explained.
The expert drew attention to the fact that the nature of the upcoming precipitation will be similar to that observed in the current days — a slightly noticeable rain without a significant impact on the city's vital activity.
On November 6, leading researcher at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nathan Eismont, listing the possible consequences of the strongest magnetic storm that had been recorded over the past week, reported on the possible occurrence of the aurora borealis in atypical regions such as Moscow and Sochi.
