Elena Frolova was appointed the new general director of the Moskvich automobile plant by the decision of the company's board of directors, she took office on November 8. Maxim Kadakov, the editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, announced this on November 10 in his Telegram channel.
The former director of Moskvich, Hans-Peter Moser, under whose leadership the localization of the Moskvich 3 crossover was carried out, as well as the large-scale assembly of the Moskvich 6 liftback and the Moskvich 8 crossover was mastered, worked in this position since June 2023. Now he will take up other projects, the note says.
Elena Frolova started her career at AvtoVAZ, then worked at the Ford Sollers joint venture, later returned to AvtoVAZ, and after that she again joined the Sollers structures — the Mazda Sollers joint venture. Since 2023, she has worked as Director of Passenger Cars at KamAZ PJSC and was a member of the Moskvich Board of Directors.
Earlier, on November 7, it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant began accepting orders for Moskvich 6 liftbacks for the 2026 model year in two trim levels — at a price of 3.19 million and 3.32 million rubles, respectively. With the change of the model year, versions with a CVT and a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 136 hp dropped out of the range of modifications of the Moskvich 6.
On October 30, it became known that the Moskvich automobile plant had not abandoned the production of a compact crossover with the index 5. According to the company's press service, the vehicles continue to undergo a test period of operation in the corporate fleet.
