Zakharova spoke about retaliatory measures to the visa restrictions of the European Union

Russia intends to respond to the visa restrictions imposed by the European Union (EU) against Russian citizens, taking into account its interests. This was announced on November 8 by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

"There will be retaliatory measures, but they will be taken in accordance with and taking into account, first of all, our national interests," she said on the program "The Right to Know" on TVC.

The EU authorities have linked this measure to improving the security of the Schengen area.

Earlier in the day, Zakharova said that restricting the issuance of multivisa visas to Russian citizens who previously lived in the European Union would drive the EU to suicide, given the enormous costs of the association for Ukrainian immigrants.
