Earlier in the day, a house partially collapsed in the Tula region as a result of an explosion of household gas. It was noted that the explosion led to a partial collapse of the end wall of the first entrance, as well as the roof and ceilings of the second and third floors. Shortly after, Milyaev claimed four victims during the incident. Also, according to the Izvestia source, employees of the gas service were among the injured.

According to the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region, a gas explosion occurred during repair work on the ground floor of an apartment building.
